Yeah, but we have had worse spam than his. At least it has something to do with grunge, plus it's always nice to have grunge on the radio, no?

MARK LANEGAN DISCUSSES MAD SEASON AND GUTTER TWINS, RELEASES CHRISTMAS ALBUM
http://grungereport.net/?p=18091In a new interview, Lanegan discusses releases with Mad Season, Gutter Twins, Duke Garwood, and more. The interview was published in Polish, and is crudely translated into English. Here are some excerpts:
You can tell on what is currently working on, because I know that you do not plan new album with Isobel Campbell, will not you also resulting in pain the new version Queens Of The Stone Age.
recordings already done a long time ago, but at the beginning of next year will be released at the end of my joint record with Duke Garwood. This fantastically talented British singer, in which I pointed out a long time ago. This is fucking intense live. Besides, you also check it, because it will be with me for the next tour. Like my Belgian friends from Creature With The Atom Brain.
And what about the Gutter Twins?
Ask Greg. I’m ready, but it is currently Dulli playing concerts with Afghan Whigs, maybe go over to a theme the new album.
On the web there are rumors that you sing on the second album, Mad Season. It sounds sensational.
Nah, it’s crap. The thing is: the label is planning to release a special box with the re-edition of “Above” in the next year. For remastered by Mike [McCready] board to be included live recordings, concert DVDs and some rarities. Among other things, three pieces that were written for the second album, but were never recorded vocals for them. I recorded these parties, and I think that came out really well. This is my small tribute to Layne and John [respectively Staley and Baker Saunders, both musicians have died from an overdose of heroin], are no longer with us.
In other Lanegan news, several new releases are for sale on Lanegan’s European tour. According to the forums of OneWhiskey.com and RekordsRekords.com, Lanegan has released a Christmas album as well as live CDs and DVDs.
Dark Mark Does Christmas 2012
The Cherry Tree Carol
Down In Yon Forest
O Holy Night
We Three Kings
Coventry Carol
Burn The Flames
Also for sale are live CDs such as “Mark Lanegan Band Play Blues Funeral, Mexico City, Plaza Condesa, 9/4/2012” and “Live at Webster Hall NY 2012.” A live DVD, “The Ghost That Wouldn’t Die Live 2012″ is also available. The DVD is very limited quality, and contains three TV appearances (two festivals, one in-studio performance), with a total of over 80 minutes of music.

UNRELEASED MARK LANEGAN SONGS TO BE INCLUDED ON UPCOMING RETROSPECTIVE COMPILATION
n August, we reported that an anthology set of Mark Lanegan’s material is in the works and that the set would include two CDs, one CD of released material and another of outtakes and unreleased material.
According to Randall Jamail, founder of Justice Records, five songs written and recorded by Lanegan and featured in the 2009 film Cook County will be included in Lanegan’s upcoming anthology set. The songs are “No Long Goodbye,” “A Suite for Dying Love,” “Checkout,” “I’ll Go Where You Send Me,” and an early version of “Methamphetamine Blues.”
From the forums of onewhiskey.com:
My name is Randall Jamail and I produced those recording sessions with Mark Lanegan in 2003. Mark is very particular about how and when material that he has recorded comes out. There was never a soundtrack album produced for the film Cook County, however, some of those songs will be included in a retrospective compilation on Mark Lanegan which will be released some time in 2013.
I appreciate your interest and hopefully in time more of the material from those recording sessions will surface.
Very Best Regards,
Randall Jamail

http://grungereport.net/?p=18971Mark Lanegan recently gave an interview to the Jerusalem Post. Lanegan discussed the NBA, his aversion to interviews, and more. Here’s Mark commenting on the possibility of a Screaming Trees reunion:
“There have been offers, but it’s not something I’m interested in at all,” he said. “I’m not against the idea of reunions in general, I’m really glad the [Afghan Whigs] did it – I saw a show and it was one of the best I’ve ever seen, by anybody.
I think it’s great if people want to do it, and it’s their right, but I won’t do it. I will play with some of those guys – and I have – but getting together as Screaming Trees is something I’m not interested in… and I don’t think the others are either.”

Mark Lanegan to start follow-up to Blues Funeral via Alternative Nation:
In a new interview with MOJO Magazine, Mark Lanegan discusses writing his new Mark Lanegan Band album, his latest covers album Imitations, Lou Reed, doing voice-overs for athletic underwear commercials, why he hates interviews, and more.
Lanegan stated that after playing an acoustic tour, he will resume playing with the Mark Lanegan Band and that “[he's] starting the follow-up to Blues Funeral in January.” Lanegan says that the Mark Lanegan Band did not really fit the music of Imitations, which included cover versions of Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin songs, and that instead he has been touring in “classier, mellow settings.”
On the passing of Lou Reed, Lanegan stated: “I don’t think I’ve cried about someone passing away who I had never met since I was a kid and John Lennon died.” On a lighter note, Lanegan stated that he was recently hired to do voiceovers: “a recent one (chuckles) was for athletic underwear.” The singer also added that after Joy Division/New Order’s Peter Hook followed him on Twitter, he “ran around the house like a little girl. I told my girlfriend, check it out, bitches! It’s the shit man, they’re the forefathers.”
