I just consider then alternative. They are too difficult to really define into any set group.

Genre talk gets ridiculous. And personally I beleive trying to define a genre is just welcoming pigeon holeing and close mindedness. But that's just me.

Naw, don't see that -- heavy =/= metal. Metal is a very precise style, and on Bleach, the riffing is too dense most of the time, and the majority of the technical side of the music was more minimalist than what metal usually involves. Having said that, "School" would be metal if Kurt had decided to play more notes.
