GREENRIVER....fathers of grunge?

Some say Green River was the group that started it all. The band members would later go on to be in Mother Love Bone, Mudhoney and Pearl Jam. Come express your opinion on how grunge started and the role Green River had in its formation.

U-Men were grunge, too. But the term didn't really come out then, so I'd say Green River are indeed the fathers, especially since members of MLB, Pearl Jam, and Mudhoney were in it.

I heard someone say somewhere that Neil Young was the ‘father of grunge’. Don’t get that particularly. He reminds me more of ‘80s alt.

I consider Green River to be the originators of Grunge, personally.
