Recently, former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson met with Fuse.tv writer William Goodman to talk to about his new book, Letters To Kurt. On that note, he, err, teased some pretty interesting info, like the fact that Cobain was working on some solo stuff that “would have been his White Album.†More:
“That’s really what he was going towards, a solo album but working with different people. I was really excited about some of the stuff he was working on. I got to see him play it in front of me. That’s why I was really sad [when he died]. I was like, ‘Oh man, not only are you cutting off a life, but a message to the world, a musical path is just left with … Bush and all this other stuff [laughs]. He was cut short. Who knows where the music would have gone.â€
Eric Erlandson also mentions a particular cover that Cobain recorded that he knows people would freak out about, but he doesn’t spill it — not in this interview, anyway — while making mention of a possible new release of unreleased Cobain demos. With the small-scale Hole reunion last week , Courtney Love’s Twitter rant and resulting mom-and-daughter fallout, the recent anniversary of Cobain’s death and all of the Internet’s finest fucking hologram memes, my head is spinning. But the demos would be cool!
